The Project unit works towards achieving the viability of projects which use creativity and innovation to promote development and, acting as a change agent, promote the professionalism of the person facilitating the creativity and innovation.
This unit currently manages 4 projects: EFCI(College for Creativity and Innovation Facilitators - Escuela de Facilitadores de la Creatividad e Innovación), Project LOCREO (Culture, Location and Creativity), INCUBA and COCRIN.
EFCI (College for Creativity and Innovation Facilitators)
This college is financed by the Kellog Foundation and trains about 100 young people every year in the use of creativity and innovation for promoting development. The training is provided by 10 experts of different parts of the world, who offer 10 workshops of 16 hours, in which the main goal is to supply values, strategies and methodologies in creation and innovation as a measure for reducing poverty.
Project LOCREO (Culture, Location and Creativity)
This project trains the local leaders in order to be able to present alternatives for the future of their communities. Their training is based on cultural values, the respect for human rights, the commitment for peace and local and regional development, the best use of the benefits of global development and offering their communities innovative plans for the next generations.
INCUBA
Incubator for creative businesses.
This project consists in meeting the needs of creative entrepreneurs in Guatemala, not only by providing spaces, but also by offering support and advice in artistic and business matters to facilitate the development of their activities. On the other hand, there is a need for the efficient use of the creativity of Guatemalan entrepreneurs and also the world wide consolidation of an economic sector that continuously presents the highest levels of job creation and productivity.
COCRIN
The COCRIN project consists in creating a support team to allow the young people who have been trained as facilitators of creativity and innovation to develop projects which benefit the community which they represent and to act as motors of community development.
The type of project to develop in each community will depend on the potential of each community and make good use of the strengths and opportunities identified in each municipality to create the most suitable project.
The project consists of a group of more than 100 young people trained in the EFCI (College for Creativity and Innovation Facilitators) who already hold the basis to create different projects and will have an important effect in the improvement of each community. The next step includes the follow-up and monitoring of the young people who were trained in EFCI and to support them in implementing their projects, making available all human and material resources necessary.
The goal is to use creativity and innovation as a tool to diminish poverty and improve the quality of life of the direct and indirect beneficiaries.
The Support Team is composed of 4 facilitators of creativity and innovation, specialising in project coordination and creation, resource analysis and project implementation. These professionals will work in multidisciplinary teams.
