Child and Adolescent Care Team (EAIA - Equip d'Atenció a la Infància i Adolescència)

The EAIAs - Child and Adolescent Care Teams - are a specialised social service comprising an interdisciplinary team of people (pedagogue, psychologist, social worker and social educator) dedicated at providing care to children and adolescents in situations of high social risk in Catalunya. They gather, globalise and evaluate information, and create the technical action plans directed toward the benefit of the children. These children and/or adolescents are sent to these teams either directly by the Directorate General for Child and Adolescent Care (DGAIA), or by Social and Primary Care Services (SSAP - Serveis Socials d’Atenció Primària).

These are the reference teams for the biological family of the child and/or adolescent in a situation of high social risk. Their main objective is to get involved in the adverse and high risk conditions and to modify them in accordance with a work plan.

The EAIAs are dependent on the corresponding Regional or Local Councils.

The Educational Platform Foundation is responsible for managing the EAIA of Gironès county.
