The Ateneu Cooperativa de les Terres de l’Ebre begins a new stage with renewed energy, new challenges, a new corporate image and new offices in Amposta. These, located at C/ Eugeni Ribera number 16, were inaugurated last Thursday, February 27, in an event open to citizens and in which it has become clear that cooperativism and social economy, with the work of the Ateneu for 4 years, have been gaining a presence in terres de l’Ebre.
The new facilities are a shared premises, in this case, with the Special Work Center of the Astres Foundation and the insertion company Eina activa and has more work spaces and meeting rooms (the previous premises, shared with The Gentis Foundation had been small). In addition, they have been endowed with their own personality through a mural made by the Ampostine designer Hernan in H that reflects the values of cooperativism and solidarity using his peculiar relaxed and ironic style.
The main objective of the Athenaeum is to promote and accompany cooperativism and social economy in the territory, and in this new stage a decentralizing effort has been made in order to bring the services of the Athenaeum to the whole of Terres de l’Ebre. Thus, apart from Amposta, the Ateneu will also have a technical office in Tortosa, in the Business Nursery; and in Gandesa, in the Business Center. This has represented a slight increase in the workforce that has gone from 4 to 5 technicians and as pointed out by the technical team “We believe that this decentralization is important because it improves our visibility, while facilitating access to our services“.
The shared space is designed as an inclusive workspace, without walls or walls, they are transparent spaces where we all see each other, share and cohabit the space.
The other action carried out on Thursday 27, was the presentation of the space ceded by the Gandesa City Council that becomes a collaborating entity of the Terres de l’Ebre Cooperative Athenaeum. Currently, this project is composed of the municipalities of Amposta, Ulldecona and Tortosa; the Astres i Gentis foundations, and the cooperatives Surtdecasa, EPI, ALC Assessors and Ateneu computer.
